My background is engineering. I am working as a business analyst and have over 15 years experience. REQUIREMENTS Document and model requirements to use cases or features. I like UML but have been working agile for 5 years and happy to write user stories and acceptance criteria. DESIGN Sometimes it helps to go a little more detailed with class diagrams, sequence diagrams, etc. that helps technical team to understand how features should work, business rules, etc.Recent work, I set up the schema using the ERD in SQL for a medium sized web app. USER INTERFACE I have been wireframing for 5 years, it works fairly well with agile development as the documentation is light and the wireframes provide fields, layout and flow. Also, with systems primarily becoming web apps, it is appropriate. Did use Axure a bit but Balsamiq is enough to convey the needed idea, even for UX work. TESTING Involved in functional testing and often co-coordinating acceptance testing. Writing test cases, test plans. In addition, I have been automating Excel worksheets with VBA for the past 5 years, from data consolidation to filtering, user defined formula to file manipulations.
