Sumarul concursului
We (NASA) need to develop a number of high resolution 3D models to be used for Robonaut simulations. These 3D models are to be developed based on photographs of real items (see attached files). These simulated objects would be used for various grasp and manipulator testing.
This particular challenge is to build a 3D model of a Soft Goods Task Panel. This is a copy of a panel that was shipped up to the Space Station with R2. This panel will be used by the Robonaut developers to improve vision and grasping controls of non-rigid, compliant objects in the robot workspace. The location of the four quarter turn fasteners that hold the blanket in place are particularly important in this model.
Submissions must include closed, open, and partially open configurations of the model as shown in the images.
There is a scale in the attached imagery is in inches. All final model submissions must be delivered in on of the following formats: .prt (Solidworks, ProE); .step or .stp; .iges; .stl; .dae. NOTE: Freelancer submissions will need to be image file views of your model. If you win the contest, you will then send/transfer the model files to NASA via email, dropbox, etc.
All entries will be judged on the accuracy, quality, and fidelity (detail) of the model produced. Note that where highly similar top submissions are produced, the submission entered first will win.

Feedback de la Angajator
“GR1D did an great job of creating a detailed 3D model of a Soft Goods Task Panel for use in our NASA Robonaut simulation. This was a contest and his design was selected as the best.”
