Hi, my name's Lance and I started Be Kind to Me. We are an early stage start-up fashion brand looking for an artist who will do preliminary simple cartoon based artwork for graphic t-shirts. I will pay well and be an understanding client who has clear relevant examples for what I want but will allow for artistic vision.


I think it is a spirit of emotional vulnerability and trying to be sweet in a tough world. I think Be Kind to Me is a sort of melancholy howl for lonely people. A sort of anti-thesis to overly happy live laugh love shirts and clothings brands. I'm a huge fan of Daniel Johnston's simple drawings and the line drawings of artist A Very Lucky Clover, as well as some punk style especially in lettering used by companes like Vans or Liquid Death.


I am a TERRIBLE artist but I would love you to improve upon some sketches that I've made in simple line, simplistic, black and white cartoon style. These are some ideas which you will find in my sketches, feel free to draw any of them you like but I just thought I'd highlight some of my favorites.

The key to this one is to show a lot of tears and pain in the suns face. Should be a little rougher but borderng on cute. Stupid little double entendre lmao
