CONTEST: Design and Render Two Versions of A New Sponge Mop. The overall concept we already have but we're looking for your ARTISTIC TALENT to help make the design look STUNNING, refined, unique, gorgeous! WE LIKE DETAILS!
BACKGROUND: There are many sponge mops in the market place with various types of sponge material as well as methods of wringing them dry. We are developing a new sponge that has unique benefits, so we need a “fresh”, unique and stylish looking mop design to help SET IT APART from the many sponge mops out there. The overall visual design will help attract the consumer’s attention to investigate and discover the features of the our new sponge. We do have some required design details below, but the main FOCUS of this contest will be the LOOK, not any functional features. Don’t let these requirements limit you from making this mop look STUNNING.
TWO VERSIONS: We essentially need one mop but TWO VERSIONS. The difference between the two versions is the MID-GRIP. Version-1 will have a bulb handle on a straight pole, while Version-2 will have a slight angle to improve ergonomic.
BOTH VERSIONS WILL HAVE:
1) A 2” diameter BALL handle grip at top. A ball grip is not new but your challenge is to design one that is cool and comfortable. You can play with textures and color/material combination (for example: combine rubberized touch points with metallic accents)
2) Middle handle grip Version 1 will have a Bulb shaped grip on a straight pole. Similar to above ball grip, this grip should have some definition (texture, accent, etc) to be consistent with the top grip. Version 2 will be a 4.5” comfortable grip angled about 40 degrees from vertical as according to our sketch. Here too, this grip should have some cosmetic design touches.
3) Use similar wringer mechanism as on our sketch, but the shape and overall look of the wringer should be modified to improve colors, accents, grip. Remember, you only need to make it look good. Our engineer will work out the mechanical aspects.
4) A mop head shape that is unique (not simply rectangular), that can reach corners, with a cool surface form design
5) Cool Scrubber pattern at bottom of sponge head. We apply a more abrasive material to help scrub stains. We need your best pattern design for this abrasive material. The pattern should not be too busy that it is difficult to apply or peel off easily, or so dense that it does not allow water to be absorbed by the sponge.
6) Flip-Up Hanging Hook built into top of ball grip. Most mops have a hole at the end of the handle to hang up the mop in a closet. We want a hook that swings out from the ball grip, and snaps back flat when not needed.
7) New Tube shape: Virtually all mops are made of round wood, aluminum or steel tubes. We want to add several recessed grooves to an aluminum tube to increase the strength and give a new look/feel. We would like you to use different shape tube (22mm diameter) for each mop Version: Version-1 should have a Round tube with 3 recessed curved lines Version-2 should have a Triangular tube with 3 recessed curves lines
8) Aluminum tube will have anodized metallic color. You can see this on Dyson vacuum cleaners
9) Beautiful combination of colors between all elements. It all has to come together in beautiful colors that signal modern, clean, fresh, sophistication, design. WOW US!
We will need photo-realistic presentation in various angles.
