Hello -

this contest is about creating a visual identity for a campaign that promotes "changemaking" at Miami Dade College (MDC), a US community college with a very diverse student population. The college aims to excite its students and its faculty about the notion of "changemaking" which means being entrepreneurial, having the skills and courage to turn ideas into real projects, products, businesses and social ventures. The college will offer its students opportunities for developing these skills.

Below are key messages that were developed for communicating to students about changemaking.

• Changemakers thrive on turning ideas into positive change,
whether big or small.

• Create a great future for yourself and others by being
a changemaker.

• Your community needs you!

• Succeed in your changemaking journey in your own way, at
your own pace and based on what you care about most.

• Contact an MDC changemaker coach to get involved. Learn more
at mdc.edu/changemaking.

The basic idea is to use the phrase "Let's thrive" as a slogan for the campaign, teeing off the initial message above. As a call to action, the campaign presents a Web address, "mdc.edu/changemaking" where students can find out more information for getting involved, teeing off the 4th message above.

This is just meant as a basic illustration of the concept. I'm looking for something that looks much more engaging, with an added graphic mark that conveys the notion of thriving and striving to be entrepreneurial. I'm also looking for improvements on the general design.

The idea is to present changemaking as something that is fun, that involves friends, that is about pursuing one's passion, realizing one's ideas, being one's own boss. It's about living an exciting life.

This is the "I AM MDC" campaign. It aims to promote MDC and pride in being an MDC student.

For the "Let's thrive" campaign, it might be a good idea to use some visual cues from the I AM MDC campaign, for instance, the colors in the "I AM MDC" campaign (blue and green).

To participate in this contest, please create a visual identity for a campaign that uses "Let's thrive" as a slogan and directs students to mdc.edu/changemaking. Please feel free to mockup banner and posters that show a student or several students to convey the look and feel.
