Contest to design four drawings telling a story for a children's book. Target age is 3-5 years.

CONTENT:
Left page, top: picture 1 with text 1 underneath,
Left page, bottom: picture 2 with text 2 underneath.
Right page, top: picture 3 with text 3 underneath
Right page, bottom: picture 4 with text 4 underneath

The contest is to make four nice drawings for a children book telling the following story. The story is written beneath each picture:

Text 1: Tom, Tom's mother and Tom's father go on a plane. In the seat before Tom there is a man. The man is about 60 years old.

Text 2: The flight is very long. Tom plays in his seat. He makes some noise. He dangles with his feet. Tom does not notice, but Tom kicks against the chair in front of him. The man gets very angry.

Text 3: The man yells at Tom: "BOO!" Tom is shocked.

Text 4: Tom is very sad. Tom cries. Tom's mother and the man argue. Tom's father consoles Tom.

Deliverable:
To decide winner: picture file, e.g. JPG of two pages showing the story.
For winner: PDF file with drawings in vector format

Hi, CH. Thanks for answering my last message. About your question, i dont know how much is your budget and i am conscious this is an contest, you will choose the best entry who fits your needs. But in my opinion, just one illustration with so many characters the minimum value is around $40~50.

  Thank you for your honest feedback. I noticed you got started in the meantime very nicely. I've been thinking about your comment. As there have been a couple of strong contributions already I decided not to raise the prize for essentially three reasons:
  
  1) The reason is that my budget has constraints and I am hoping to negotiate on more drawings later - but that is not certain at this point, see below.
  
  2) There are strong contributions for the given budget.
  
  3) I find it unfair if someone produces a product for this budget and subsequently the budget is raised and an early competitor gets blown out of the water by someone who dedicated e.g. twice the time into it - because now it is twice the price.
  
  So these are my reasons to keep the price fixed. So if you think the price is not enough I wonder if I can encourage you to make a 'half-entry', e.g. two pictures instead of four. I will then try to rate it fairly like in ("car A is half the price of car B. Is car B twice as good?").

  this contest is for the four drawings. Depending on the outcome (!) the idea is to make a book with cover art and six to ten stories and try to hire the winner for the other drawings. To avoid giving wrong signals: the contest price is guaranteed. The plan to make a whole book is not and it might not come to it in the end.
