I would like to express my sincerest gratitude for your participation in the interior design contest. The response we received was truly overwhelming and far surpassed my expectations. The level of creativity, talent, and dedication displayed in so many of the submissions was remarkable. Out of the over 50 submissions we received, I faced the incredibly challenging task of selecting the top five designs. Each submission had its own unique flair and merits, making the decision a daunting one. As such, it was not easy to decide. We had to analyze each submission while considering the contest criteria.

I want to take this opportunity to commend each and every one of you for your outstanding efforts. Regardless of the outcome, your contributions have left a lasting impression, and I am truly appreciative of the time and talent you shared with us.

I am seeking an experienced interior decorator (or interior designer) to assist in the interior decoration of our house.

The house is fully built, and now we plan to do a big renovation which includes breaking walls, adding new rooms and spaces and changing the entire decor of the house.

We already obtained the services of an architect, who already revised the floor layout and provided the final floor plan after renovation. What is pending now is to have a complete décor plan for the house while considering the new floor plan after the renovation is complete.

UPDATE = it was decided that as initial stage ,only need to submit design plan for the Master bedroom and 1 child bedrooms. The 2 best designs will then be announced and these two designers will continue and design the other bedrooms to win the prize.

What is this contest about?

- Have a professional interior decorator or an interior designer providing a detailed décor plan (sketch and mood board or 3D rendering) for 6 rooms in the house (5 bedrooms, 1 family room), having such plan with a detailed overview of:

- Furniture selection and placement: Choosing furniture and its placement for each of the spaces, while respecting the provided floor plan and project specification

- Color palette and material selection: Creating a cohesive and visually appealing aesthetic.

- Decoration: choice and placement of artwork, accessories, wall decorations and fabrics to ensure best visual aesthetics and design for each space

- Lighting design: Planning lighting schemes for different purposes and moods while considering both the existing lights and the ideal light requirement for each space

- Window treatment recommendations: Selecting appropriate curtains, blinds, or shades.

Scope of this Contest & Required submission to Win:

- Submit a detailed decor plan for the rooms included in the mood board file (see in the list of resources here below), referring ONLY to decor plan of the Bedrooms + Family Room (not of the entire house!)

- Such interior decor plan should be submitted as a 3D renderings or detailed mood board with sketch and supporting details to ensure the exact design vision is clear, providing visual representations of the proposed design.

- Submission can be done as a room layout plan (2D), with a detailed mood board OR (ideally) a basic 3D rendering representing the complete decor

Important notes:

Any decor plan should be done while considering

1. The provided mood board
2. The provided house floor plan
3. The details and brief we provided regarding each space and room (such as our design preferences, who will use the space etc).

Points to consider:

1. The floor plan for the house as a whole as been finalized - so the room sizes and room position and general floor layout is fixed as per the provided floor plan

2. Interior Room Decor and Furniture is provisional - On the provided floor plan we did consider the position of all furniture items, cupboard, beds etc. But all these are only provisional positions and as the interior decorator, it is up to you to revise / suggest the ideal position of each item and set the internal layout of each room

3. Flexible Budget - The design can be done without any budget limitations

4. Tailor Made furniture - If needed, some furniture can be custom made as per your design sketch, as we do use local skilled manufactures, as well as and wood and metal, masters who can craft almost any furniture item

Contest winner will be chosen as per these criteria:

- How well the designer arranges furniture and decorates the space.
- The skill and professional level in the submission done
- The relevancy of the submission to the project brief, requirements and specification
- The visual aesthetics of the submission when considering the furniture placement, lighting design, item selection, as well as the color palette, and all other decoration items and accessories

Prize Amount: 300 USD

Want to make an additional 750 USD? Once the winner is chosen, we will offer the winner the option to continue and provide a complete interior design of the additional spaces and rooms of the house, paying you additional per hour or for this additional project.

the plan show a desk in the master bedroom … would you like to have a small desk next to the TV unit or just a TV wall with storages and drawers like the photos in the excel ..

  Ideally for the TV wall we believe it would be nice to have a wall panel behind the TV and just a TV furniture with drawers. Not massive furniture. The table can be small and position anywhere in the room. Maybe best position for the table is on the wall opposite the large window/sliding doors. Yet again. We are open to any design suggestions

  In the excel i did mention our design preferences. Referring to what we would like to change. In the photos you can see how the rooms are. But we want to change the look of all rooms as per the details on the excel file. We will change flooring, break some walls, add new spaces and have to decorate all rooms.

  Do note that in all bedrooms we have false ceiling. The only bedroom without false ceiling is the master bedroom. Accordingly, it does slopes (as you can see in the photos and the plans). I added more details on the excel .

Sir, at this price what would be fair is to select through a contest only the "Livng-Dining-Kitchen" of your greatest liking, and allocate all the remaining space to the winner for $700D.
The price is low for the "contest" modality since many would end up working in vain (high risk high return and here it is not fulfilled).
