ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for an experienced and creative DevOps Engineer to join our team part-time! To be successful in this role you should have experience managing infrastructure along various cloud service providers. Majorly GCP and AWS.
The ideal candidate’s focus will be to assist engineering and the organization set up scalable and reliable infrastructure to power the product suite under Streamlytics and the Strong Data Backends. In this position, you will manage infrastructure projects and processes. Keen attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and a solid knowledge base are essential.
Someone who has successfully navigated with a company from start-up through large scale would excel in this role and is a plus. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Work directly with the Engineering Team and Data Team to test system integrity.
Design and implement build, deployment, and configuration management.
Test implemented designs.
Build and test automation tools for infrastructure provisioning.
Handle code deployments in all environments.
Monitor metrics and develop ways to improve.
Provide technical guidance and educate team members and coworkers on development and operations.
Brainstorm for new ideas and ways to improve development delivery.
Consult with peers for feedback during testing stages.
Build, maintain, and monitor configuration standards.
Maintain day-to-day management and administration of projects
Manage CI and CD tools with the team.
Document and design various processes; update existing processes.
Improve infrastructure development and application development.
Follow all best practices and procedures as established by the company.
PROFICIENCY
Previous experience with software development, infrastructure development, or development and operations.
Experience with Linux Infrastructures, Database SQL and NoSQL, CI/CD tools, ability to script using languages like Python or Javascript and write BASH scripts.
Able to work on a variety of Compute Technologies on GCP & AWS (Including Kubernetes, Elastic Beanstalk, CloudRun, AppEngine, Cloud Functions, Lambda, etc..)
Proficient in working around IAM Roles & Permissions.
Able to deal with Security Setups (Firewalls, Firewall Rules, etc..).
Up-to-date on the latest industry trends; able to articulate trends and potential clearly and confidently.
Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management.
Proficient understanding of code versioning tool Git.
Conversant with Agile workflow methodologies.
