How To Meditate Infographic!

We are looking for a graphic designer (preferably entry level) to help us design a how-to-meditate infograph; this would be a project to project basis eventually leading to full time work.

Meditation (n) – the practice of getting past the “thinking” mind, and into a deeper state of relaxation or awareness.
There are many different forms of meditation but like the roads of Rome, they all lead to the same purpose, to reach a deeper sense of awareness.
How to Meditate
1. Find a calm place away from distraction to be used as your ‘zen space.’ The ideal place should be dark and quiet. Ear plugs are highly recommended especially if you live in an area close to traffic.
2. How you sit is very important. For a very helpful meditation, you need to consider 2 things:
a. You should be able to sit in your posture and not fidget for a long period of time.
i. You can sit on a chair or on top of a yoga block with your legs folded. Ideally it should be a comfortable position.
ii. We recommend not laying down to meditate because you will fall asleep.
b. Your spine should be straight. Imagine if there is a string attached to the top of your head and you being pulled upward towards the ceiling.
3. Start by noticing your breath. Don’t try to control the breath, if your breath is short then it is short, if your breath is deep then it is deep.
4. Throughout the meditation, thoughts will come in and out of your mind. You will experience pleasant thoughts and unpleasant thoughts, notice these thoughts and return to your breath.
a. It is important to treat all thoughts pleasant and unpleasant as equal. This way, you will train your brain to be more aware and less reactive.
Do this exercise for at least 10 minutes each day. This can be done in the morning when you wake up or in the evening before you go to bed.
Start with a 10 minute meditation and increase the time you sit for each week moving forward.
**hint** The best times to do a 10 minute sit is after a workout or a yoga session.
