Configuring Magento 2 to work on ship staion

Have installed Ship station plugin on magento 2 store had problems with store URL had to put [login to view URL] (which is where the website is loaded from this is due to custom .htaccess file.
Have since installed on another site and can not figure out why it is not connecting
