The app should work offline pulling stories from the local database packaged with the app. The only time it goes online is when it needs to check for new stories to add to its database.
1- The app will start by displaying a Single Story.
2- Each day/week (as set by the user) a new story will be selected randomly from the apps local database and a Notification will appear telling the user there is a new Story to read (offline). The user will BE able To Navigate through This “selected” stories only.
3- Ability to bookmark/save favorite Stories.
4- The app should Check online ‘server/database’ every 30 days when device is online if there are new stories to add to the local database, if so download only the new stories (Title and Body, Not Images ) and save them automatically to the phone.
The “server/database” should be able to run on a simple shared hosting environment
5- Send SMS automatically from the users phone to a Predefined Number with a predefined message
a. When Installed and
b. Every Day, Twice a week, Every 5 Days or Once a week depending on user setting
c. When The Application Is Uninstalled (if possible )
6- Setting page which allows user to choose how often to get “new Stories /Notifications” ,
a. Every Day
b. Twice a Week (Default)
c. Once a week
d. OFF / No Notifications
7- The download payload must be under 1 MB, with few stories in the local apps database.
8- The app should support Unicode characters.
9- App compatible with early versions of android
10- App should be ready to be uploaded to Google Play
11- Story Structure :
a. Title
b. Text Body : the text body should be able to be formatted , Bold, italic , line breaks, list
c. Image:
i. If an image is attached to the story it will be fetched and saved from online url when the story is opened. If the device is not connected, a place holder image will show telling the user to connect to see the image.
ii. if an image is not attached , Only the Title and Text Body Will Be Displayed
