Alooba is the first data and analytics skills assessment platform. Companies use Alooba to assess the skills of job applicants in data related fields such as Data Analytics, Data Science, Business Intelligence, and also other roles that require some level of data analytical abilities such as Product Management, Growth Marketing and any other role that companies would want to ensure their candidates have the ability to use data to make well informed data driven decisions.

Alooba is a start-up that started in 2019 and recently secured seed round funding. We currently have several enterprise clients and are looking to bring on many more large enterprise clients as we are in a great position to be able to offer them a solution to drastically improve their hiring processes and ensure they hire the best people for the job.

Our company culture is very much that of a start-up however as most of our customers are high profile enterprises we need to ensure that we deliver an enterprise grade product with reliability and stability at foremost importance, while also continuing to deliver major product enhancements.

The Role

This is a full time role. We are looking for amazing software engineers to help bring our product to the next level with a major overhaul of the system architecture using a service oriented approach and expanding our feature set. You should have experience building well structured systems and are keen to work remotely in a start up environment. You will work directly with the CTO and a small team of developers to build out our assessment platform to be an enterprise grade web application to serve our small but growing user-base. Our application is built with PHP (Laravel/Lumen), PostgreSQL, and React.js and is running on AWS. We are looking for extremely capable people that can help expand our product and build it to scale with our users. You will be responsible for designing, developing, testing and maintaining the application and supporting services. Responsibilities

• Analyse requirements to design solutions for new features and functionalities

• Design and develop highly scalable, and maintainable code

• Design and develop system database schemas and RESTful API interfaces

• Thoroughly test new functionalities and existing systems

• Implement and utilize CI/CD pipelines

Must Have Requirements

• Strong communication skills in English

• Solid experience with Object Oriented programming

• Solid experience with Relational Databases and SQL

• Good problem solving skills

• Attention to detail

• Ability to work autonomously

• An ability to understand and interpret user needs

Nice to Have Requirements

• Experience with PHP

• Experience with PostgreSQL

• A good understanding of internet security best practises

• Experience building RESTful APIs and integrating with 3rd party APIs

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines

• Experience managing AWS services

• Frontend web development experience using HTML, JavaScript, CSS, React.js
