Garage Sale Point of Sale

I would like to have a simple point of sale program created for me. This will need to run under windows 98 and above. This is intended to be for Garage / Yard sales.

## Deliverables

Here are the features I need. 1. Multiple Seller support. A user-definable hot key to select the different sellers. Example: B - Bob, E - Eddie, F2 - Tim 2. I should be able to, in one transaction, sell multiple seller's items. 3. I should be able to have an easy to enter large amounts of change a person might give me. 4. I need to be able to accept more than one form of payment, and more than one payment per transaction. i.e. it should be able to handle checks, and assign a check to a particular seller. 5. I need to be able to have some hot keys set up for standard items. Example: Different Baked Goods this way a preset price can be created for cookies, bottled water, etc. Standard items should be able to be set up tied to a particular seller, this will not be overriden. 6. I need to be able to optionally specify what type of item I'm adding to the transaction. These types should be able to be user defined for quick selection. This will only be used for reporting later on. 7. The database should be self contained in a single file, and the program should be able to open previous databases, or create a new database. it should remember the last open database and try to open it on program start. 8. A transaction needs to be able to handle discounts. i.e. % off, $ off, sell all for $ total. More complex discount formulae will be implemented in the future, this should be flexible. 9. On the main screen of the program, it should show a running total for each seller in the database, and should sort these by who has the most $$. 10. It needs to have decent reporting - it should be able to generate a report at any time during, and/or after the sale to show how much each seller sold. It should show which checks belong to which seller. [ no items in this section are part of this bid, they are included here for reference while these are not requirements for the initial round of developmemt please keep them in mind while developing: Eventually a report will be required showing the sales by half hour or by hour (i.e. from 10-10:30 am we sold $110) All reports, in the future, will need to be able to run by seller or by entire sale. a report showing what items sold, the totals of those items, and the seller the items belong to a report showing the different types of items sold, needs to be able to run by types or by seller and types end of future section ] 11. At the end of the sale, it should have a process where a person can count the money, and enter the amount. The program will inform the user if a long / short situation exists. it will then offer to adjust each seller's total by the relative amount (based on the % of their sales) This can automatically enter one or more transactions in for different sellers to acheive the correct totals, but i'm open to your ideas also. 12. I want the program to be visually attractive. 13. It must be keyboard friendly. I need to be able to do all operations for selling with only the keyboard so that when a garage sale is in full swing, and someone is busy, they don't have to slow down to run a mouse. 14. I expect people to run this on older hardware, it should be able to run on windows 98 and above, on slower computers 15. I'm open to your ideas on this project, and the budget is tight so if you have a great idea for how to do this cheaper that is great. 16. I need an easy way to create a trial version that will unlock with a registration key. 17. I will need an installer and uninstaller. 18. The deadline on this is short. I will extend the deadline to a yet-to-be-agreed-on date after a coder demonstrates a willingness to get right to work on this project by supplying a demo of the gui design after no more than 7 days. I expect the entire job to take no more than 60 days to complete. ---------------------- 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.

2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):

a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.

b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.

3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
