Our company has its own IT development department that has developed Visual Basic 6 and Access based Time Attendance software that run on Windows based Desktops. This software gives reports in Excel.

This software has two integrated parts.

[url removed, login to view] can import data from database files (normally mdb, csv etc.) where Time Recorder devices log their attendance records. This software can import data from certain devices manufactured by us and also from few other vendors. It also has a generic import mechanism so that data from many other devices can be imported. This is important part of the software. We would like that such database can be made available to the software by uploading the log file online or if preset path is provided to it where the file reside on the internet (like url). It has integrated scheduler to read file and import new data if any.

[url removed, login to view] of data and generating various types of reports is other part of this software. We now want all reports in html and also exportable to PDF, excel etc. in desktop version it already give this functionality.

[url removed, login to view] want to convert this desktop software into web based software developed using PHP/Perl or ASP. PHP/Perl versions shall work on both Microsoft and Linux platforms+ Apache, ASP version shall work mainly on Microsoft platforms.

[url removed, login to view] software will already provide you the detailed database architecture. Complete database will be available to you ready. It will also give you very good know-how as how to make web based GUI's. We would like the web based GUI to be very similar to current one so that our customers can easily migrate.

Only for some parts like Analysis of data and mathematical calculations vb source code will be available. We will also give vb source for the import of data. Overall main business login will be available but GUI and reporting related source code will not be available. Our engineers will be also available to clarify you the source code related issues. Documentation for the source code is not available.

4.A list of new features will be given that need to be added. it will e more related to new reports, new web features that normally desktop software do not have but on web they become easy to provide like upload download, email alerts, web base employee login and management, integration with other existing web based system to share same user database and exchange data among each other. All this will be a common thing for a good web programmer.

[url removed, login to view] will provide web server and domain where all development files will need to be uploaded in real-time, we will monitor the development work on daily basis and the latest release and source code shall be available on our web server. We will also provide a separate project and bug management system where your team will need to report for bugs found by our team.

[url removed, login to view] for the source code and the project will be necessary. We will setup procedure to have parallel documentation. Documentation at the end of the project is not acceptable. Quick and reliable documentation is enough, no need to spend lots of time in it.

[url removed, login to view] : Maximum 3 months, normally for team of 2-3 experts people the work may be just of one month as complete architecture, reference software, database is available. Even an expert individual can apply for this project but part-time workers are not acceptable.
