jsf facelets tutoring

I need help understanding how to get the most basic facelet to work on Win7, Tomcat 5.5, Java 7

I need help understanding how to get the most basic jsf app to work on Win7, Tomcat 5.5, Java 7

In particular I couldn't get the example from "The Definitive Guide to Apache MyFaces and Facelets" to run.

I am reading that faclets must be .xhtml. i see some examples that seem to be .jsp, and others .jsf? Whats going on here?

actually I now see that one must map a FacesServlet to .jsf extention. I think.
