We are interested in selling a new software product we have developed online and need a secure page and script developed to take orders.
The online order script does not need to check the credit card info online. All it needs to do is capture the information, store it in a file or a DB table on our server, and then notify us by E-mail that an order has come in. We can take it from there.
We would like to use an off-the-shelf shopping cart solution for this if possible. We currently have a custom Perl script we use for other software orders, but it is old and hard to maintain. We are looking for something more modern. You can expect follow-on work if you provide a good, easy-to-use solution as we will want to migrate out other online purchase applications to use it.
Can you provide a rough estimate as to:
1. How much you would charge to do this?
2. How long would it take?
3. What sort of shopping cart software products you plan to use? (note: our web host provider has cPanel which provides Agora Shopping Cart - I think we can easily install osCommerce as well).
