We currently have a daily update of (some of our) products via wp all import. We use a .cvs as a source file and use this file to update existing products.
We receive the stock and the original price for a product range.
There’s a unique ID: ProTempo product id that’s used to match these products.
We are saving the purchase_price in a custom field.
PRODUCT MANAGEMENT
The client is using WP Sheet Editor to easily manage the values for products.
Over here, they can see and modify:
• ProTempo product ID
• Original price (ie: purchase_price)
• Price factor
• Reseller price
MODIFICATION
There are a lot of plugins working, created by another agency, in the background that we want to remove. I migrated all the other functionalities.
So what we need is this:
Every product has a 2 custom fields:
• Purchase_price (this is imported via the csv or entered manually)
• Price factor (this is entered manually)
When the admin saves a product, the product price will be calculated based on the purchase_price * price factor.
When we do an import of the prices (via the csv), any updates to the prices need to be done automatically.
If the purchase_price of a product is 100 on Thursday and has a multiplier of 2. The price needs to be 200 on Thursday. After an update on Friday, the price is changed to 110. Then the resell price should automatically changed to 220.
We are considering 3 plugins for the “Cost of goods” part.
We can use them as a starting point or just go ahead and create a solution from scratch.
The most important part is that we save the price in the original “price” field in woocommerce. That way, we can use other plugins for adding these products to Facebook shop , google products, …
