NSCollectionView to display large images by downscaling

I am not a developer, I just write small apps for daily routines. I used to use IKImageBrowserView to view and do some archival routines in my past apps. Since it is deprecated, i switched to nscollectionview. I have no problem displaying them and doing my routines. But the images I am dealing with are minimim 4000 x 4000 pixels and load of them. I need a clean simple project which shows me how to do it with nscollectionview. I have found WWDC presentation which explains the right way but could not succeed with my limited knowledge ([login to view URL]) .
To Sum it up.. I need a simple nscollectionview to downsample hires images to display them efficiently and fas as IKImageBrowserView.
