ABSTRACT: Background: Depression is one of the prevailing psychological disorders worldwide and exists twice in women as compared to men, mainly in their reproductive age. It is evident that pregnant women suffer from depression between a range of 12-20%. The major emphasis of this study was to find out the incidence of depression among pregnant women eighteen years age and above who received prenatal care at Lone Star Family Health Center. Methods. Institution based study was conducted on 39 prenatal women under care at Lone Star Family Health Center. Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS) was used to determine the likelihood of prenatal depression and the data were analyzed R version 3.5.3 including Fisher's Exact Test. Variables having value < 0.05 were considered as statistically significant. Results. 39 pregnant women were questioned and the prevalence of prenatal depression was 20.5%.
