I have a PDF file (it is an old book which is in the public domain), which you can actually see here: [login to view URL] Since this book was published in 1919, there are obviously no digital copies of the text, however that is what I would like. I would like someone to type or OCR the book and return to me a copy of the text. (If you do OCR there will need to be manual correction afterwards because I know OCR is error prone). Please note that this is probably a larger project than the average one on freelancer. The book is 115 pages long (I don't need the appendix, index, or introduction). There are also the occasional stray words in Hebrew in the text. If you can't type in Hebrew, you will need to cut and paste the characters one by one from a Hebrew keyboard online (google translate has one that works well). In terms of formatting, I want everything in plain text. That means formatting should be handled with tags (I don't care if you use XML or something you make up). For example, here's how I would do the beginning of page 1:

<text>The word אשרי is always used in the plural, the reason being that man is not pronounced "happy" for one good which is found in him, or for one piece of good fortune which befalls him,...</text>
Since this is a large project I'm happy to pay in pieces as you deliver it to me. In fact I would prefer this because I will want to make sure things are going well. There is not a big time crunch for this - I'm much more concerned with the overall cost than with doing this quickly.
Requirements:
1 - I need the text from all 115 pages of the book, and it must be 100% accurate. This includes punctuation and words in Hebrew.
2 - I need the final product to include some sort of markup in plain text format that indicates which words were in bold, which words were titles, and which words were the line numbers.

You're right, it is a big project. However, the text looks to be in great shape and is not hard to decipher whatsoever. I would not OCR the book as the programs pick up every stray mark and would wreak havoc with the Hebrew. More trouble than its worth When it comes to the Hebrew, I would copy and paste from the original as I don't always trust the translations, etc.

I can run a script that takes all of these images and then outputs the text in OCR without error. Each page would then be formatted and proofed with HTML tags in dreamweaver, HEBREW OCR will be used to gather each screen shot of each word on each document.
