Hi project owner. I'm a senior software developer. I have over 10 years experience in embedded system design including Arduino (ESP32). I already fully review this project. It is possible to be developed. Below is the detail. I will use cascade shift register (probably 74HC595) as serial to paralel converter. The data will send serially by the MCU. I will use local switch at the beginning. As for the 7 Segment, of coure will use transistor to power on. So the signal to control the led will be send from 74HC595 and it will control the transistor base to switch on/off the led.
