I am currently designing a product and I need a mechanical engineer or someone with expertise in laws of physic (motion) to answer a quick question. This is to validate if my design parts will move as I am expecting them to do. Your answer would not only be a Yes or a No, but you would need to confirm which laws of physics that apply to this example and what is the formula to calculate the forces involve. Attached is a PDF document with illustrations and my question. This document will be very clear so that if you know your laws of physics, this should be very clear to you and very fast to answer. Should not take you more than 15-30 minutes of your time. The selected bidder may be hired again with more questions later on.

Hello, I have looked at the diagrams in your pdf and I can help you with your interesting project. Your question touches directly on the law of inertia. The balls may move up or down depending on the amount of upthrust and buoyancy forces acting on them. Of course I assume that the shaft is fixed to the box in such a way that it would only rotate about its axis. The density of the rod will also be an important factor.

Hi there, the direction of rotation depends on the volume of void ball. if you need the mentioned direction of rotation as per drawings then I have to calculate the size of shaft & two void balls. If you are really interested then message me.
