Unity game program area select function needs update

Within the Unity game, there are square for example 7x7, there are 4 different icons and one delete function key which I can choose from, I need choose one of them, then insert into the square.
In order to insert the same icon into the 7x7 square, right now the program only let me do it one by one, I need do it 49 time (7x7=49), I like update this function, do it once, select whole area 7x7, then select the icon, insert the same icon into the whole area just once.
