Android Application rework

I had an android application built a while back that connects to a database on my website. It uses a web service located on my server. The application has a chat feature similar to instant messaging. This chat feature has no settings capability to turn the notifications on or off and when a chat is initiated the notifications continue endlessly until the process has to be stopped. The android application worked for quite a while but recently stopped working because it seems as though it cannot find a file. I would like the application fixed to work again and a settings added for the chat feature to turn the audio and visual notifications on or off. I would also like the unending looping of the notifications fixed. Once these issues are resolved, I will have other modifications done to this application in another project. I am including the source code for your review. I understand that this application is not a true android application and uses web pages instead of android code but i do not wish to rework it at this time, just fix it. I will send the database connection details to the developer awarded to complete this project. If this project goes well, I will use the same developer for the future rework and possibly to port the application to the iphone platform.
