Filemaker remote connection

We need to make remote queries to Filemaker Server 13 and a Filemaker ODBC database connection on a Windows 7 Pro box on which we have full permissions. OR, we need the Filemaker server to update a remote mysql database on our linux dedicated server. We need the remote connection established. Either kind will work fine. The Win box and Filemaker are running a busy point of sale system with which we cannot interfere, that pos also being the data that we must query.
