I need a program for Linux written in C that will be a simple AIM (AOL Instant Messenger) client. It should not have a GUI, just a command-line interface. No advanced features necessary, but what you plan to do with it will adjust my accepting price. You can utilize any open-source, commercially reusable libraries. At minimum, program must be able to: * log on, log off * send and receive instant messages (functions should take and return regular C strings, not UNICODE as is sent through AIM... ie. conversions are necessary) * view/add/edit/remove buddy's from buddy list * send/receive buddy status updates (must maintain list of buddies in internal data structure w/ according status, which is maintained throughout running of program) * update your user profile Optional features include file sharing, chat rooms, etc... I believe you can do all those core features with TOC2, but if u can implement with OSCAR that is preferred. UPDATE: There has been some interest in utilizing GAIM libraries. If you are able to make a command line interface for all of GAIMs libraries, please do make a bid for that! I'm willing to extend the deadline and accept significantly higher bid amounts for complete GAIM integration. There will also be an opportunity at the end of the project to assist me in integration with my existing software, in which case a 50% bonus will be paid.
