I’m in the market for a software architect with extensive C++ experience and design background.
The job is to write the technical specification for redesign the ftp backup application we have.
This job is not to write the code, this job is to write the design specification.
Specification details need to be at the public function level.
You will need to use a CASE tool to reserve engineer the current implementation and then write the specification to make move this utility to the next level.
This document will be used as technical architecture specification for the programmers to implement.
Need to have experience with some of this:
* Internet protocols: HTTP, ftp, webdav, SSL
* SQLlite database or other way of storing information in SQL format.
* Windows namespace programming
* Excellent written skills in English or Romanian
* Ms Visio or other Case Tools
* Good research skills
* Reverse engineering skills
* Rsynch library
* Xdelta library
* Zip library
You can download the current implementation from here:

The winner needs to be able to communicate on the phone and have internet connection at the same time (no dial up) to discuss the specification with me.
Expected time will be around 1-2 months part time (10 hours per week)
You have to demonstrate some of the technical skills listed here, writing skills and software architect skills.
