Customize JomComment

I need help with customizing JomComment ( a comment system run under Joomla) to display the number of comments made, in a Joomla category template override. (If these words or concepts sound strange to you, you are probably not the one I am looking for. ) For someone who knows what they are doing, this should not take many hours. I am expecting around 1 - 2 hours maximum for this work, but preferably quicker. See complete details in the attached PDF.
