Whois domain monitoring / lookup

I am looking for someone to code a simple whois lookup tool, that will take a list of domains (from a text file) and each day check the status of these domains against the whois server. If there are any changes to the status, the script should notify via email that there has been a change. The status could be stored in a mysql database, or a flat file db,it's up to the coder. This particular whois server has a web interface as well as a regular port 43 whois lookup. Again, it's up to the coder which interface he wants to use. I should mention I already coded up a simple script that does lookup the domains throught the web interface, but has no reporting. It only prints out a list of the domains next to their current [login to view URL] winner could use this script as a starting point. As for language preference, it can be python or PHP.
