I have a home project that I need some help with. This is a skateboard race timing system. It consists of hardware (a disected USB gamepad device) and software (A VB 6.0 program using DirectX DirectInput to get button pushes from the disected gamepad).
It works, but it is not robust.
Three things need to happen (that I know of):
1) Make robust against the expected other OS's (mine is XP professional). Testing and/or inspection of code.
2) Make robust against the expected other DirectX versions. I know it fails under DirectX9. Testing and/or inspection of code.
3) Make more accurate/precise timing. I use the gettickcount() call. My testing shows that this is only precise to about 20ms. I'd like to change to something like the performance counter to get a precision of approx 1ms .
## Deliverables
1) You can bid for items 1,2,or3 in the description or all of the above.
2) You can bid on several ways to deliver (sorted by value to me
a) take my code, change it to make it robust, test it against WIN98, WIN2000, XP DirectX 7,8,9 and deliver the code back to me
b) take code portions and deliver them to me for integration and testing
c) offer techniques and tips on how to proceed
3) This is a low-budget hobby endeavor. Not much money is availble.
4) No hardware will be available. You should have a joystick or game pad to simulate the actual hardware
## Platform
Win XP
Win 2000
Win 98
