Hi, I am Engr Umar Rafiq. I read your project. I am BS Civil Engineer with majors in structures. I have a good practical experience and knowledge of Structural Designs. I am a Pakistani Engr and we use American codes as a base. Since your Flat is an old building so I will ask you a few tests for compressive and tensile strength of the existing structure. These strengths tests will be used as the base of the Design and Analysis old structure. For design and analysis purposes, Firstly, I will do the manual calculation with the proper references of respective codes. Secondly, I will design it on STAD PRO or ETABS. I will give a brief comparison of manually designed structure with the software-based designed structure. The final step will be the design and analysis of new structural elements.
