Microprocessor Based Locomotive Control System (April 2003 to December 2003) Project Environment: Languages: C, asm H/W Platform: Intel MCS 51/ AT89C2051, Intel 80196 Tools: Intel 80196 In-Circuit Emulator Brief Description: The Project is based on a total Locomotive Control System and the Integration of the Propulsion and the Excitation Control System for Diesel Locomotives. The control system is designed for WDG and WDM Locomotives and the real task lies in configuring and designing the excitation control system. Design was studied and modified with consultation from Railway official w.r.t to the Excitation Control System. The V-I Characteristics curve involved the relation between the generator O/P and the Engine Demand. Most important was to generate the PWM through a micro-controller. The micro-controller used is 80196 micro- controller with digital and analog inputs. VGA Monitor with XSA100 Board using Xilinx FPGAs (Oct 2002- March 2003) Project Environment: Languages: Verilog, VHDL H/W Platform: Xilinx Development Board Tools: Floor Planner, Xilinx Development Kit Brief Description: The Project is based on a design of a Johnson counter was implemented for a larger application using the ISE WebPack from XESS Corporation. System Analysis on Controller Area Networks (March 2002 – September 2002) Project Environment: Languages: C, asm Protocol: CAN H/W: TI TMS470R1A256 (ARM) Development Board, CAN, RS232, USB, SD/MMC (Proposed and under development) Brief Description: The Project involves the use of CAN-open networks in wagon trains. The same concept is used in Czech Republic where the EM471 train is equipped with several redundant CAN open networks. The train is used for intercity transport. The concept is that the train would have three units control wagon, motor wagon, and in between wagon. Each wagon would have a computer and all the computers in the train would be connected through communication wire that is the WTB (Wire Train Bus) according to the international standard IEC 61375-1. WTB is the highest level of communication that enables to interconnect different vehicles in the train. CAN with CAN open protocol is used for communication within a vehicle. One CAN network interconnects different I/O devices. Another one links the control computer to the traction unit. Both CAN networks are redundant. Important data is stored continuously in the back-up memory and are used for service and maintenance. The train unit may run in automatic or manual mode. Contribution: Involved in requirements gathering and analysis on existing code. 14. Development of Interface on TMS320 (Jan 2002 – March 2002) Project Environment: Languages: C H/W: MIL-STD 1553B O/S: VxWorks Brief Description: Worked on the interface for TMS 320 with the MIL 1553 bus that is used as a fly by wire. The project was on the coding stage and more of coding was done with C and assembly. The development was done on a Real Time Environment, and the operating system that was used for the booting the processor was VxWorks other than Solaris. The system study was being done to develop and optimize the Mobile Vending Server. The Mobile Vending Server runs on a RTOS that is dedicated for the system. Contribution: · I was involved in requirements gathering, analysis and coding. · I performed Unit testing and performance tuning for the module. · Involved in code reviews 16. Implementation of ATM Applications (April 2000 –June 2001) Project Environment: Languages: C, embedded C, Linux , VxWorks H/W: BSP with MPC 8260 Communication Processor O/S: VxWorks Tools: Tornado IDE. Brief Description: Worked on R&D project, based on the Q2931 standard by the ITU-T. The focus of the Project is on the development of Layer 3, i.e the layer below the Application layer and above the AAL layer and emphasis is mainly on the Control and Signalling Part of ATM Technology. Major advances on the Project have been in the Architectural Design dealing with the Sequence Flow Diagram (Flow of Messages from the User to the Network in point to point (Calling Party to Called Party) signalling. The reference is on the SDL (Specification Definition Language) of the Q2931 standard. Platform was Linux. Ported one layer of the stack from Linux to VxWorks with some major changes in the library files. Developing an OS Wrapper for the Stack in VxWorks and making it generic such that it can provide the operating system services to Protocol Stacks using the required APIs. Working on the Memory Services of the OSWrapper. Versed with the PCMCIA (while developing the memory modules) for interfacing with the MPC 8260 processor as a communication processor and supports ATM applications. Contribution: · Involved in analysis, design and coding. · Performed Unit testing and performance tuning for the module. · Involved in code reviews 17. Electronic Warfare (July 1999- March 2000) Project Environment: Languages: C, C ++ H/W: Spectrum Analysers. O/S: pSOS Tools : pROBE Debugger Brief Description: The project deals with the ESM (Electronics Support Measures) for jamming and detecting of the enemy radars in the real combat mode. I was responsible for the system study of the display processor of the system. Mostly covered the hardware aspects of the system. Analysed the system and gave the necessary feedback to a scientist. Was involved in preparing the SRS (Software Requirement Specification) of the system Contribution: · Involved in analysis, design and coding. · Performed Unit testing and performance tuning for the module. · Involved in code reviews 18. Digital Hydraulic Electronic Unit on LCA (September 1998 – June 1999) Project Environment: Languages: C, C ++ H/W: Complete development board for Unit Level and Dynamic Testing O/S: pSOS Tools pROBE Debugger Brief Description: The Project was executed for the Aeronautical Development Agency for the Indian Air Force, India as an integral part of the LCA. This project was a development project with pSOS+ as the platform. Languages used C and C++ and ASM. The expectation and the requirement of the client was perfection on Real Time Applications with Critical Mission Applications. All the issues related to design were done using Rational Rose using UMT(Unified Modelling Techniques) Contribution: · Involved in analysis and coding of test drivers. · Prepared test cases and created the functions to test the important functionalities. · Performed Black Box Testing · Performed Unit testing and performance tuning for the module. · Involved in code reviews
