•Overseeing staff of 66 – 70 employees 1 deputy store manager 9 department supervisors. •Monitoring sales performance against last year, last week, and budget on a daily and weekly basis continuously seeking to understand commercial environment, local trading patterns, competitor activity and market trends in the retail sector and their impact in the store sales •Interpreting and acting on operational profit and sales reports generated through finance and focus on improving under-performing areas. •Ensure seasonal peaks, important business / promotional events are taken account of when preparing forecasts and staff schedule. •Responsible for ensuring that all financial (invoices, reporting) and personnel/payroll related administrative duties are completed accurately, on time and in accordance with company policies and procedures •Ensure store expectations and priorities are communicated to staff and regularly review and provide feedback on staff’s performance against expectations. •Provide department reports on slow moving, fast moving, near expiry and non-moving items to the Operations and buying team. •Ensure to take action in advance for the near expiry products. Suggest management with an alternative plan. Maintaining FIFO at all times. •Ensure all the products in the store must carry Price tag, expiry date, English & Arabic product label as per Municipality requirement. •Carry out regular and relevant in-store training and enroll staff on relevant Learning & Development needs. •Ensure regular store staff meetings are carried out to communicate business goals and training delivered.
