We are looking for a Native Android Mobile Developer to complete our existing development team. You must have already developed and submitted your apps to Google Play and have referenced work (minimum 4 years). PROJECT SCOPE: building a Native Android app. CORE FUNCTIONALITIES: custom live maps, location search, turn-by-turn navigation, track new routes with Mapbox APIs and SDKs. PROJECT TIMELINE: 1 month. PROJECT BUDGET: to be agreed on and based on experience and delivery. PROJECT REQUIREMENTS: - knowledge of the Mapbox SDK with Android. - using real-time data to allow users to search for routes, navigate along existing routes and track new routes to be available for other users. - developing chat functionalities based on users' geolocation for users to connect and share comments, pictures, reviews. TECH STACK: Our tech stack involves Java (Android), Python (Flask), AWS, Neo4j, and Maps/Mapbox. We are collecting and maintaining the majority of data on DynamoDB in AWS. We also provide insights into data via Neo4j. It will be highly important to have an understanding and using the best practices when consuming REST and WebSockets. FURTHER SPECIFICATIONS: Currently, we have backend services for both navigation and search. We require that this mobile developer can consume these services in such a manner that can be valuable for the user. Our services are structured as serverless functions with AWS lambda and our endpoints are deployed via API Gateway. Going forward, we need to ensure that the candidate can complete the core functionality of search and navigation. In the case of navigation, we have a mockup of the functionality from designs and also have the backend service for navigational instructions in Python. However, it is entirely possible that this navigation is managed in Mapbox SDKs, for example. As a frame of reference, our app core functionalities (i.e., search and navigation) should reflect what can be found in Waze.
