Hi, I have a website PHP/MySQL where users make an online order and the order info get inserted into the MySQL database... and on the other side i have stand alone PC Program that we use in the company to handle all customers orders, so we add customer orders to that program MANUALLY. So i want to integrate both the program and the website database.. So it should work like this, when user make an order online, we then automatically insert same info to the program. I can buy API for that program and the company said that we can integrate that API using the following languages: VB.NET, Delphi, Visual Basic 6 samt C++ PLUS any language that can refer to C-DLL. I am web developer my self but I don't have much experience in C++/Visual.... So all I need is that you read some simple info while the data is being inserted to the database or if easier later from my MySQL database and use the API to insert these data to the program database. So what do you think?

Hi there, I have experiences in both web programming (PHP/MySQL) and desktop programming (Delphi, Visual C++). I need more info about your desktop program and its API. The approach I can propose at this time is: - programming a desktop program send http request to the website periodically i.e every hour/minutes to check whether there was new order - a php script that handling the above request. if there was new order, this script will send response in JSON or XML format. this response can then be parsed by desktop program - desktop program then parse this response and insert it to the existing program via its API Let me know if you have any questions. I think you will duplicate the things by doing this ? "So it should work like this, when user make an order online, we then automatically insert same info to the program." and I agree there should be a common database which can be operate using an API. But I think there is no need to purchase it. I can prepare the API for you for your system. Can I check your system ?
