I have a spreadsheet, 1st column is dates & time, 2nd and 3rd column are numbers. I want to a) average the data in columns 2 & 3 when the date in column 1 matches a date in a column I've made somewhere else; I also want to find the min and max for the column 2 & 3 data. The data have been gathered every few minutes. I want to graph as avg, min or max per every 24 hour period. I've been trying averageif and averageifs and can't get it to work. Seems like dmin and dmax might work if I put the data in a table, but that is beyond what I've learned. I have a spreadsheet of what I want to end up where I went through and manually averaged each 24 period for 2 weeks of data... but I have 2.5 years of data that I really want to look at, and I need a way to use a function for that many 24 hr periods.

creating formulas in excel is bit easy, we need to understand functionality of each formula and then have to make loop of them, I can do it for you in a day.
