Debug display bugs in HTML/JavaScript package

The two zip files attached to this project are “viewers” — packages of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript files used in e-learning software to display course content. The content text is pulled from the system through the JavaScript, and rendered using the HTML layout and CSS rules in the viewer package. The “[login to view URL]” package is a stock viewer in the system. The “[login to view URL]” package is that same viewer, but with a few changes I’ve made to the JavaScript (details provided below) that are causing a couple of bugs. The purpose of this project is to figure out what’s causing these bugs, and edit the viewer to work correctly. (Please note: When I accept your bid, I will provide you with a login to a site where you can see an actual course in both of these viewers. If you need to see this before bidding, send me a message and we will work something out.) In the attached screenshots “[login to view URL]” and “[login to view URL]”, you can see a sample course in the stock viewer (viewer1). In “[login to view URL]” and “[login to view URL]”, you see that same screen, but in my edited version of the viewer (viewer2). The point of my JavaScript changes was to add the Topic Title to the top of the content area. In [login to view URL], that’s “Module 1 First Topic”. (In [login to view URL], you can see where the title is coming from in the table of contents; it’s highlighted in orange.) That’s working all right, but it’s causing the following bugs, which you can see in altered1 and altered2: 1. The vertical scrollbar for the content is missing. The scrollbar should appear when the content is longer than the page, and disappear if it is not. You can see the scrollbar in unaltered1. 2. The size of the Table of Contents popup is getting thrown off. In altered2, you can see that it the popup is much larger than in the original viewer. If the course is viewed in IE8, it’s much smaller, only displaying one line at a time. The ToC popup should be a standard size — you can see the proper size from the stock viewer in unaltered2. 3. I couldn’t figure out how to pull the title for the first topic, so there’s a separate line in my JavaScript edits that sets the initial title to “Introduction”. I’d like this corrected, so that the actual first Topic Title displays properly. The JS edits I’ve made are all in the file /js/viewer.js. Line1, lines 111 through 127, and 498 through 511 are all my own additions. I didn’t edit any of the other code, but if you need the original for comparison, you can look at the file in the original viewer (viewer1). If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.
