It's essential that the app uses a custom map and is able to track the user's GPS location around the map so they know when they approaching a hot-spot. The best accuracy that GPS can provide is all I can ask for. I have found a site called [login to view URL] where I would like to export a map section to use for the app. As attached. Questions: - Can you use this custom map for the app? - Can I have this map and all the app's contents downloadable so that when the app is used, all the user needs connectivity for is to triangulate their GPS position through the cellular connection? I would need the app to be less than 15MB in size. - Can I have say 15-20 hotspots on the map? A hotspot will usually be an audio recording in MP3 telling the listener about the point of interest that they are at. Although it may also be video - Can you provide a quote for the above development work. Many thanks, Charlie

I'm an experienced iOS developer and I have worked on a similar app, except it was an in-house app used for phone booth coin collectors. The app used an OpenStreetMap map. I imagine you are making a sightseeing app that plays sounds or movies when you are close to a certain spot. Sounds and movies would be packed along with the app, so no connectivity is needed at runtime, or if you'd like it can stream them from a server; however, I would advise against this since it's hard to get good 3G coverage everywhere. iPhone uses a combination of cellular and GPS, so it picks the most accurate available (obviously indoors GPS is not even functional), but it has very fast lock on the satellites once you are outside and it would work great for this kind of app. I would provide you with the app along with a simple manual for compiling the app with different map, sites, and media files if you'd like to replicate the app for a different spot.
