The site [login to view URL] presents a page that system settings can be set, posted and displays a propagation map based on that information. There is a download button on the page. Want to call that site through java and automatically get the returned image stored on computer.
This project requires the URL to be set and then sent to the site. Do not need java form/frame to select parameters. I will do that. A fixed URL with variables may be used to demonstrate the call and getting the returned image.

Hi. I've just prepared myself and tested that page to see what's the type of. I've got some question. Because on the first fire I've run simple PhantomJS script from Anaconda console and easily got the rendered image (yet without parameters) of the whole page with the given link. Then went to Browser and tried to find how the link is being generated - the answer is by script. Queries are posting by cookies. In RSelenium I've run server and posted cookies, but still got whole page.
My question is: do you need the image only (cropped from the the rest of the page) and is the need to download the whole image with google layer? It's from other source, some google api. Up to know I didn't found the right anchor (the link itself) to pull the image only. It probably need to e generated somehow. I guess you've mentioned about it.
I also guess the Java itself is the only right language for you. It shouldn't be very hard work but I'm always afraid of working with websites to not get stuck (especially with Java). Maybe it's not a good autopromotion but I've said my thoughts. Cheers, Peter.
P.S. If necessary (maybe) is it allowed to include some external jars?
