I am selling an online course. I have a free training that will be advertised using facebook ads. The platform where my free training (video) lives is called Sproutvideo. Sproutvideo has the option to ask for an email in order to play the video, in that way, I am collecting my potential clients emails for email marketing and look a like audiences in Facebook. Right know I am trying to set my facebook tracking pixel to be able to track at least one of these 3 events: when someone wrote their email, played the video or the minutes watched. In that way, I would set a custom conversion in the Facebook ad manager and tell it that whenever an user plays the video or watches more than 1 second of the free training, to count it as a Lead for my facebook ad performance.
I have reached some developers but with little experience in Javascript and tracking pixel scripts, so they haven´t been able to help me. It seems that the Sproutvideo iframe is a little bit tricky, I asked their support team (sproutvideo) about a Facebook pixel integration and they replied:
"If you are embedding your video on your own external website, you can add the Facebook Tracking Pixel to your page, then use our Javascript API to monitor for events that occur on your page. Here is a link to our documentation on the Javascript API: [login to view URL]
With that said, my last developer tried the script attached but didn´t work. I explain, in more detail, inside the .doc attached and what I am looking to achieve.
