Matlab has three random functions built in: RAND, RANDN, RANDS Everytime you run such a function you get different random outputs. The objective is to programm functions that always deliver the SAME results using a predefined matrix of random numbers. Such predefined matrix could be saved/delivered as MAT-file by the freelancer. Produce new functions RAND_, RANDN_, RANDS_ Those function should not have the same features as the origal (see "help rand"). Instead it should just produce a 2D-matrix in the format: random_matrix = rand_(number_of_rows ; number_of_collumns) Please include in your proposal a short explanation what you suggest to do to minimize computation time.

Hello, this is a simple task.. Even the MATLAB random functions can be used to produce the same output by using the same seed.. For example.. rng(10) rand(5,8) will produce the same constant output as long as we use the seed as 10.. Do you want a function like this, Or want to create something else.. Please explain

The Master Random Matrix could be generated either by hard-coding a set of values into a master .mat file or by using the rand,randn or rands functions in MATLAB (which obviously has the rand properties). The saved mat file could be loaded and the corresponding 2D Random Matrix could be reshaped using the NoOfRows and NoOfColumns provided as inputs. The physical limitation is the size of the MasterRandomMatrix to be generated. Since the same mat file is loaded and reshaped everytime, the same rand numbers could be obtained on every iteration of the code.

Hi, your program will be very easy to program. I could generate a function that if is called for the first time will evaluate the random numbers, the numbers will be saved in a file, and also returned to the caller function. We it is called again it will get the values from the saved file. In case more columns or raws need to be evaluated they will be evaluated and saved again in the file. Another option could be the case that matrixes with different dimension could be completely different, so one version matrix of every size will be saved in a file. This will require more space in disc. If a matrix with defined dimension has not been evaluated, it will be evaluated and saved in a file. If the dimensions have been evaluated before they will be obtained from the file. Hope you choose me, I am very good at doing things in Matlab. Best, Juan Miranda
