This is a link to the software that most closely resembles what I need. [login to view URL] But here is what I need (more or less). A customer fills out a request for custom research. They get billed for the work. (They are charged per page, and the rate is based on the level of the work and the number of days we have to do it.) After the charge is accepted, the instructions they submitted get loaded into the bbs system and the project becomes available to the writers. Once a writer takes the project, it becomes unavailable for other writers. When the project is complete the writer loads it into the system and it is e-mailed to the customer. It would also be good to have a system where the writer could e-mail a question to the customer and the customer could respond, but without them knowing each other’s e-mail addresses. Some extra features that would be nice would be in data retrieval and reporting. For instance, writers would have “accounts” where they (and I) could see orders they have written in the past, what they have coming due, and what they have turned in and need to be paid for. And it would be REALLY cool if I could import what needs to be paid into quickbooks. Most of what I’ve seen out there allows freelancers to bid on projects and then the customer selects the one they want (usually the lowest bidder). Because of the automation I’m looking for I’m not sure if modifying something already on the shelf is the right way to go.
