IMAP message handling, download of attachments

Extended knowledge of the IMAP protocoll is needed, email information will have to be polled and the details stored into a MySQL database. Email attachments will have to be downloaded. Emails will either have to be modified ON THE SERVER or replaced with a slightly modified but other than that IDENTICAL mail (same header, date etc. same unique message-ID) Your programm will need to handle large emails with attachments. The download of attachments has to be 100% correct. Speed is essential as well, so multithreading should be possible in order to download different emails at the same time. There willbe a web-based front end to the application. The web front end includes a new user registration, login, logout, listing of all mails, filtering methods (by size, date, sender, etc.), selection of messages that are to be further processed (downloaded, modified, deleted) by the back end IMAP application. I am not going to release project details here, so just a short outline. I have written detailed specifications and outlines for database schemes. I need somebody or a team that has GOOD communication and expert programming skills. Merely having some PHP experience is NOT going to cut it. I am not impressed by a big portfolio with links, but rather YOUR THOUGHTS - an outlined approach, possible technologies that could work (java, python, php, pre-writte classes etc.) This is NOT going to be an easy task.
