make small change on the menu off existing WP site

I need to have some small changes on an existing WP site,

the menu should show the green bullet on top of the menu item during hover and when it is active (currently that isn't working correctly note that the menu bullet disapaers if i use a higher negative value for the placement)
there should not be a bullet on the dropdown menu items
