I am needing a weather and tides page created for my site. The user selects the location they want to see and hits the next button which then adds several different types of weather resources on a new page. An example of what I want can be found here
[login to view URL]
Those same locations from the link above are the exact ones I need to have. I would like the selection page to be just like the link. I do not need all of the results that are being processed from the example link, I would only like 4 or 5 of them on my page. We can go into more detail of which ones later. I currently am using phpnuke for my site and Invision Power Board as my forums. We will be migrating to Invision Dynamic site as soon as its released and will need the flexibility of it being compatible when I upgrade. It would be a plus if this could be made into a component for Invision but not necessary.
Here are instructions from the owner of the site from the link above on how he made his page.
"I use PERL LWP to fetch the stuff then parse the page to get what I want. It
all comes from public domain and public access sites so no fees or
copyrights. Just credit when asked. I built the tide listing manually and
added the appropriate weather station (JAX, MEL, MIA, etc) for each location.
All locations, including the tides are built by latitude, longitude and the NWS
station ID(zone).
You can use the info at the [login to view URL] site to get the URL of the latest text
forecast, fetch it, parse(pretty it up), and then spit it out in html. AJAX can
put it in your page.
The tides script is Xtide and is from www.flatterco.com. You have to have
shell access to your server to compile it."
Now im not sure if my host allows me to have shell access so I may need some help on an alternative which I have.
