Good Day,
I am looking for a coder/developer to work with me on a one-on-one, hourly basis to help me learn the basics of web application development. I am currently the Chief Operating Officer of a 100-person medical device firm that is owned by private equity investors. I began my career with Accenture and have significant ERP implementation experience, but limited coding experience. I recently implemented a cloud-based SaaS ERP system at my company, and this process has inspired me to develop a niche, SaaS application that operates on the periphery of ERP applications for small companies. Eventually I will market and sell this product independently, supported by my own capital and, if necessary, outside investors.
In the meantime, I need to learn more about web application development, specifically as it pertains to cloud-based architectures and the use of tools like AWS, Azure, etc. I need to do this in order to become more conversant in the technologies for my future venture, and frankly, because I really enjoy doing it.
I learn best by watching people do things, and my proposition for this job is for us to build together some very basic web applications as examples, and deploy them to cloud-based services.
For example, I might ask you to build a basic employee database, with which a user can add, modify, delete, and query employees. Pretty simple stuff, but I would like to see the process from start to finish, including UI development, database development, and deployment to the cloud. It would probably make sense to do this in C#, .net, MySql, with the Visual Studio IDE. Of course, I will need to ask questions along the way, but I assure you I am a fast learner.
I would like to allocate between two to three hours a week for this, and we could do it over several weeks...total engagement could last a while as I learn more. I would like to pay directly by the hour, and hopefully this will be a nice, stress-free project for someone who wants to earn a little extra cash. We could do the lessons via Webex, GoToMyPC, LogMeIn, etc. You would drive, I would watch and ask questions. I would generally need to do this on weekends or at night during the week.
Thanks for your consideration.
