Please look at 2 pdf pages from my proposed site. You will see that the second page is very similar to the first: all that is different is the central text block. You will then find a link to a 38-meg pdf which contains a series of 88 similar A4 (roughly the same size as American B4) pages I’d like you to turn into the final website. The resulting site will have about 70 html pages (as the other 18 or so pages are run-ons of longer pages).? ? Here’s why: this link only allows 100 views, so if 100 people visit this link to check out the job and only 5 bid, then I only get 5 bids, and no-one else can bid as they won’t be able to view the file! You will most likely decide that this is a fairly straightforward job, which just needs concentrated time to do, rather than great skill as a web designer. In other words I expect to assign the job by the end of Friday US time, and I’d like the website finished by the end of Sunday. HOWEVER... I could be wrong about how long it will take you to do this site, so here’s my absolute deadline: I need one page completed and linking to 1shoppingcart’s name capture routine , and 2 supporting pages by the end of Monday. The rest can be done on Tuesday. If you get the job, I will email you a Word file containing all the text and the associated page titles. The first page of the pdf is instructions to you, the web designer.? The last page is notes to go with the numbers {1}. {2} etc which appear on various pages of the pdf. The job: * create the framework for the site: all the pages follow the same simple format. • turn the text in the Word document into approximately 50 html pages of varying lengths (some cover 3-4 A4 pages in the pdf document) * insert all the photos which I’ll provide in 2 versions: one for display on the html page, and one which is displayed when a surfer clicks on an image (I think there are about 40 unique images to insert) * create the forms to capture people’s messages: each form will simply send an email to me with the subject: Message from [page], and the body of the email message should contain the data from the page in pure text format: name, email address, country, message, YES to ‘you can mention my full name’ tick box etc. * link the products to the shopping cart so when people click to buy an ebook they go through to the shopping cart * on about 10 pages I’d like you to add below the main body text: “Email this to a friend?? which, when clicked on, goes to a page where the surfer can enter a friend’s email address and a message goes to that person linking them to the page the surfer just clicked on * add a further page which allows a surfer to enter the names and email addresses of up to 7 friends, which sends an email message to these 7 people linking them to the website Please answer the following questions in your bid... 1) Every page is to have a Search box. I want the results to be ad free. I want to be able to log in to the search site every few days and initiate a manual indexing after I’ve added or modified various pages. Will there be a cost for this Search facility, and if so how much? You MUST answer this question in your bid! 2) Several pages are to have a simple captcha facility to reduce spamming. Will there be a cost for this facility, and if so how much? You MUST answer this question in your bid! 3) Do you want this job to go through Escrow, ie I deposit your bid amount into guru’s Escrow, or are you not bothered? 4) At the top of each page is the graphic with my photo and strapline: do you have the skills to do a beautiful, professional job with, say, a stock photograph as a backdrop? Will you outsource this? Do you want me to arrange this separately? 5) Do you know [login to view URL] Have you the skill to insert the correct code to subscribe people to my list and set up a simple 3-step autoresponse sequence for subscribers based on text files I email you on Sunday? If you DON’T know 1shoppingcart, you can STILL BID, but you need to say that you don’t know 1shoppingcart in your bid! 6) Please provide links to other sites you have done, especially similar sites where there is a lot of copy. PLEASE do not link me to dozens of sites: just a handful that are similar. 7) Can you do this job by the end of Sunday, or will you finish it by the end of Monday or Tuesday? Please tell me in your bid. Note: this pdf is not the final version: I will email you a final version by the end of Friday. This version may be 20 or so pages longer, but those pages will have very little text and most likely no graphics, so they shouldn’t take much time for you to do. I may ask you to amend 5-10 pages before the site goes live, perhaps asking you to add extra text. Please allow for this in your bid. As you can see, I have posted about 75 jobs on guru.
