Flash player development

For a customer we develop a website to access video files with related metadata. The website will be used by the customer to publish public meetings/debates with metadata like subject, when is which agenda-item discussed and when is a specific meeting participant is speaking. It must be possible to use this metadata for navigation in the video file; click a certain agenda-item or speaker and the player will jump to the right time in that file. Also, when a speaker is clicked, it would be nice to mark in the timebar when this speaker speaks throughout the meeting. The website will be developed in standard HTML and should incorporate a Flash player with incorporated metadata navigation functionality. So, the Flashplayer with underneath the metadata to use for navigation. ## Deliverables The website will be an HTML website based on an SQL server database. The database, website pages, search functionality etc. will be developed by our company. The Rent-a-coder developer will only be responsible for development of the Flashplayer with propriatary navigation to be integrated in our website. We will need to use streaming i.s.o. progressive download to be able to jump to any moment in the file (the video file can be multiple hours).? We deliver two different files to the website, a video file in probably H.264 in MP4 container (not completely defined yet) and a metadata file in XML. The metadata will be stored in a database because we need search functionality from within the site.? MP4 must be the container because our customer does not want to get stuck on Adobe. The website by default will show the most recent recorded meetings and clicking a meeting will start the Flashplayer and will load the related metadata. The website also provides search functionality and from the search results a meeting can be clicked which opens the Flashplayer with metadata again. A good example of how the flashplayer should work can be found on <http://www.denhaag.nl/web/show/applications/id=211447/langid=43> 'Recent opgenomen vergaderingen' means 'recently recorded meetings'. Clicking a meeting shows the player and how the metadata is displayed below and above the player window. Attachment contains some screenshots from this site, it is important also to show the actual metadata in the top 2 lines of the flashplayer. The developed player must be free of charge to be used by Arbor Media and our customers, e.g. cannot be based on any commercial player with license costs.
