Migrate drupal 7 to drupal 8 Situation: D7 News Site was implemented by another vendor, we are NOT given admin's right but we are given editor's right to create/edit/delete content. Things we have: - we are given editor rights (able to create/edit/delete article) to understand the workflow of content creation - we are given sql dump for current D7 - we can request for static file for current D7 Things we don have - we are NOT given admin rights to access module, structure, error log - we are not given source code of D7 Can you purpose a way how to do the migration?

Greetings, When you dont have access to source code, at that time only one option we can think of which is getting all the information you can get and building it fresh with all the required functionalities. So please share site url & access whichever you have with you. Also as you said you have db dump, if it is whole db dump, there are better chance of that being useful. Hello, We have to install a fresh Drupal 8 and then make the site first before we can migrate the db and other things from the old one. We have to bvrify that we have the migrate upgrade module and have enabled the required modules. Modules have to be made again basically because of change in PHP version. We would need files from the server and the db to migrate. We have to setup on local and do it before we can up it on a staging server and then make live after testing.
