I need to capture the impedance from a DMM (Digital Multi Meter) to a PC as a data INPUT for a custom app I'm building for a good friend.
The 3rd party-software PC-Link, included in the package, captures perfectly the readings of the DMM. The problem starts when I try to get this same readings from my scripts. I get the data but it seems to be encoded in an unknown (for me) code. I'v tried, unsuccesfully, with "utf-8", "windows-1252", "ascii" etc...
Figure [login to view URL], shows the PC-Link (Left) showing 6 readings from the DMM. The Right side shows what I capture , in SPY mode, using a software tool called "Advanced Serial Port Monitor (ASPM) by AGG Software" which is pretty much very consisten with the readings I get from my Python and C# Scripts. WireShark gives me the same kind of output as well.
I'll stick with this ASPM software because is very straight forward, and my Scripts are still Work-in-Process.
Still In the same Figure_01, Left and Right side are synchronized outputs. So, Left and Right have exactly the same info Left Readable, and Right encrypted only-god-knows-what. :)
So I need help getting the code Recipe to convert the unreadable in readable.
Figure DMM_90EPC .jpg, shows the DMM USB. Driver: "Prolific USB-to-Serial Comm Port" (PL2303)
Figure_02 shows the same info as Figure 1 but the Right side with different format.
File [login to view URL] contains the same PC-Link output data shown in Figure 1 and 2.
The Files [login to view URL], [login to view URL], and [login to view URL], contain the Output data thrown by the ASPM software (Right Side), and need to be decypher so show readable info. Exactly, this is the project's theme or pourpose.
Product expected (by me of course):
1) Name of codes applied
2) a Simple method to decypher
3) a little python (or other) script showing encoded, operation , and decoded output. I mean a 3 or 4 lines of programming script just showing the core of the main action, decrypt.

Hello, I am bidding on your project "".
I have read your project description and I am sure you will succeed in this project.
I've dealt with something very similar to what you described in your project.
Please leave a message in my chat to discuss the budget and deadlines.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Thanks.
Just a heads up.
The data output by DVMs may just be data representing which segments are 'lit' on the display.
E.g. if the meter is showing 8.1V on the screen, it means that all segments in the 8 are 'lit'. The decimal point is 'lit' and 2 segments are on for the 1 digit. And it's displaying volts so the 'V' segment is on.
This segment data is packaged up and sent out raw. It will be in a proprietary format where you'll need to figure out which bit in a character represents each segment on the screen.
Hi, My Client, I want to work with you.
